Delicious, nutrient dense, bloat-free breakfast While oats are described as technically "Gluten Free" many people find they still suffer bloating when consuming them for brekky - why? This gets down to the nitty gritty of terminology, and therefore confusion; 'Gluten' is an umbrella term for grain proteins, each grain has a slightly different protein - In wheat it is Gliadin, in oats it is Avenin. So if you are on a Wheat free (Gliadin) diet, oats may be ok. But now this gets even more confusing: gluten sensitivity tests, including celiac tests DO NOT test for Avenin specifically, so many people undergo these tests, results come back fine so continue to consume oats liberally....much to their poor digestive systems disappointment. Lesson: your gut knows all! Do you feel energised, bloat-free and satisfied on oats? - Super! If you don't - switch it up ASAP. Ingredients:1/4 C chia seeds 2 T quinoa flakes 2 T pumpkin seeds 1/2 an apple, grated handful of blueberries 3/4 C dairy-free milk Method:Combine all ingredients in a bowl, or jar, stir to combine and leave to sit for 10 minutes before consuming.
This can be made the night before and left in the fridge for a quick and easy grab-and-go breakfast. Enjoy x

This is so easy to make and it's delicious. I used almond/coconut milk and added a tablespoon of honey to the mixture. Left it overnight and it had quite a thick consistency so I added a little coconut yoghurt, mixed that in and it was just right.
